I love that action figure of Bill Clinton, it so presidential. I placed it on top of my PC where it points to every citizen like the goateed guy with the tall hat that says, “I want you!” With the spring action activated and wearing his own version of a Mona Lisa smile, the former president is ever as charming as always. CThe detail is great, with pleated clothes, salt and paper hair, and tie; oh the tie! is red, white & blue, how so appropriate. Even his shoes are shiny that it looks have just been polished by a lady guest in the oval office.

I found a fitting item: The Hillary Nutcracker. Not with a king mouse or ballet dancing sort of nonsense. Instead a real nutcracker using her powerful legs as a leverage to make one docile Bill. But looking at how our hippest president stands proudly, I am sure Hillary found Bill as one tough nut to crack.

This is an awesome blender. It blends stuff like you’ve never seen before and I am really pleased with it. But its so loud. I bought this because I had a juicer and liked it. But I felt that tossing all that pulp and fiber had to be making me miss out on a lot of health benefits. And just trying to spoon some of it back into the juice doesn’t work, it’s gross. This blender blends whole fruits and vegetables wonderfully, I can still get the fiber and in a drinkable form.

After I bought this, I read a webpage where they talked about blending an avocado with the pit, and I tried it. It works, I ended up with an amazingly smooth mousse-like creamy pudding. Not something I’d do every day, but it was very interesting. I have been making kale banana blueberry smoothies for breakfast and it blends everything into one homogenous shake. No bits of leaves, chunks of stuff, etc. I’m enjoying it. I just wish it wasn’t so loud.

My Blendtec Total Blender so far it has worked great. It is a great tool to have if you expect to blend stuff on a daily basis. The larger blades and powerful motor makes my Oyster beehive blender feel like a toy. It will blend things that conventional blenders would not even begin to blend. Baby food can be puree very well. Much better than with the food processor. This machine can basically replace a food processor, a juicer, and a grinder.

2. It’s built in the USA and the parts seem to be good quality.

5. It fits under standard counters.

Negative review :
1. The base has a cheap feel to it because of the plastic. For the price, I think it should have been metal.
2. Has lesser warranty than its competitor (Vita-Mix).
3. I expect an expensive tool like this to have better dampening to absorb noise and vibration.
4. The plastic container (polycarbonate) scratches easily when mixing grains, seeds, etc.

Conclusion :

The Blendtec Blendtec Total Blender is an excellent product. It is a bit noisy, but fits under the counter. The square jar is somewhat difficult to clean, but is dishwasher safe. On the blender’s performance, the whole idea behind the green smoothie is that you can get some greens into your diet without noticing them in your fruit smoothie.  Although the Blendtec is expensive, the health benefits of green smoothies are well worth the price tag. The recipe book that it comes with provides some great starter recipes in every category that can be easily adjusted to your taste.

The De’Longhi EC702 Espresso maker incorporates all the features of larger and more expensive espresso makers. The durable stainless-steel boiler is manufactured to be strong and long lasting. The pump, with a maximum pressure of 15 bars provides good flow and pressure to insure each cup is brewed at the proper temperature. Espresso and Cappuccinos all come out with a layer of cream that is thick and frothy. The patented Sempre Crema filter can take up to two scoops of ground coffee while the Easy Serving Espresso Filter is used with pre measured pods.

DeLonghi EC702 15-Bar-Pump Espresso Maker

This Espresso machine includes an adjustable frother with a special chamber that mixes steam and milk to create a rich creamy froth for cappuccinos and lattes. This amazing Espresso maker is available on Amazon for under $200.

Some other positives:

- Very good clearance between the bottom of the filter holder and the base. I have a nice size cappuccino mug (in addition to standard espresso cups) and it fits perfectly. Apparently this is a problem with some other machines.

- Two size filters – one for single shot and one for double shot espressos.

- Filters also use the ESE pod system if you’re into that. I don’t use pods.

- Large, easily removable and cleanable water holder.

- It looks great. All silver, mostly metal. Doesn’t have any of that cheap looking black plastic.

- Warming tray on top really works. I store my cups and filters on top and they are nice and warm after about 15 minutes, which is the recommended warm-up time. And BTW – this is not a problem. I get up, walk in the kitchen, turn it on. By the time I come back into the kitchen after getting the kids going, it is ready. Those people who complain because they have to wait a few minutes need to re-evaluate their addiction to coffee.

Pros:
-It is an aesthetically pleasing machine, like a mini-professional one.
-It takes some getting used-to. Like any machine, cars being most notable, you get the hang of this machine after the 5th or 6th time. Don’t be discouraged after the first 2 or 3 times.
-Treat it good, and it will last. It’s easy to clean and store.
-It is an excellent buy when it drops under $170 (you may be able to snag for $150, which is even better). The price fluctuates, but Amazon has the best prices.
-Great cup warmer on top! It works, but takes time to warm (10-15 minutes, usually).

Cons:
-Little manageability on the frothing wand. With practice, one will get the hang of it.
-An independent tamper is probably an ideal buy, but you don’t need a mega-killer tamper.

Notes on usage:
-Don’t use tap water, especially if you have hard water. It will ruin the machine.
-Grind your beans well. Espresso makers need finely-ground beans to work and the taste of the espresso to be excellent.
-Use a GOOD bean. Don’t go for the cheapest one in the store. We use dark roast Illy and Lavazza. After all, it is an Italian coffee, the cappuccino. (Yeah, history people will comment on this one, for sure).
-Let the machine Warm-Up. Don’t just get it together and use. If you go to Europe, watch how long it takes to get an espresso or cappuccino! Even a French press doesn’t produce a good cup of coffee if you just pour in hot water and push down the mesh just afterwards.

Tips:
I use boiling water to warm up the cup before I make the espresso, otherwise it gets cold before you have a chance to drink it.
I had to remove the screen from the tray in order to fit my large cup under the spout.
Use only distilled water to minimize calcification.

*The water reservoir is a good size, you can make about 8-10 shots before you need to refill it, which is very easy to do, and there is a clear section behind the basket which shows the water level.
*Fast heat-up time (only about a minute), good frothing wand, no wait time between frothing and brewing (though you do have to wait a little between brewing and frothing).

Be warned:
*Frothing wand is only 3 1/4 inches from the counter top. Not a big deal, I just went and bought a frothing cup that is about that height.
*Distance from grounds basket to tray is only 2 1/2 inches, I usually use a small espresso cup.
*Built-in tamper sucks, buy a good metal one.
*You don’t end up with a nice dry puck, the grounds basket is a watery soup after your espresso is made, so I dump it down the disposal.
*You will end up drinking more espresso than you mean to, it’s that good!

- Ergonomics–As other reviewers have noted, there could be a little more room between the area where the cup sits and the output nozzle. Also the steam wand could be longer.
- Features–No cup warmer. Not a big deal to us, especially considering the price of the EC155, but it will put off some buyers.

The best feature about this machine in my humble opinion is that it is E.S.E certified (easy serve espresso). This means that you can pick up the ESE certified pods from Charbucks or a good online pod retailer and not have to go to the trouble of grinding and tamping. This is a HUGE feature that even some more expensive machines do not have and is what eventually sold me on this unit. Having grown accustomed to the convenience of pod coffee, it was only natural to look for the same thing in my espresso machine. Do note that coffee (senseo style) pods will not work in here as those are much larger than the ESE certified pod. Try a nice blend from Baronet or another find espresso brand and you won’t be sorry.

I highly recommend this machine. In short, it has fantastic features for the money, makes awesome espresso chrema, and it ESE certified for pod use. You will definitely not do any better than this machine for under $100.

In the end, This machine is a steal at this price. I’ve had to get the hang of packing my grounds in the handle, however. If I pack too tightly, the cream only comes out as a trickle. I suppose that’s the case with most home machines, however. Also, it has a built in tamper on the frame of the machine, and I consider that to be a bit of a mess and kind of sketchy. Go buy a tamper sperately.

  • - there is a hideaway storage tray to hold all the small goodies

4. Steaming — excellent steam temperature and pressure — works very well with the provided frothing jug, very minimal excess water to start
5. The real test. I am using the dual wall filters, and the Illy whole expresso beans I got from Italy were made into pure heavenly expresso. Nice crema. This is the real thing.
