A food dehydrator runs on the heat source and air flow to reduce the water substance of foods. The water content of food is typically quite high, commonly 80% to 95% for a variety of vegetables and fruit and 50% to 75% for various meats. Removing moisture from food restrains all sorts of bacteria from growing and spoiling food. Additional, removing moisture from food significantly reduces the weight of the food. Hence, food dehydrators are used to preserve and extend the lifespan of various foods.
